 FACTS ABOUT CADBURY

Cadbury is a worldwide confectionery firm based in the United Kingdom that has been entirely owned by Mondelez International (formerly Kraft Foods) since 2010. Cadbury is based in Uxbridge, London, and has operations in more than 50 countries across the world.

Cadbury is one the best chocolate brands in the world. It is famous for its Dairy Milk chocolate, Roses, and a variety of other confectionery items.

So, here are a few interesting facts about our favorite Cadbury:

1. John Cadbury founded a grocer's shop in Birmingham in 1824, selling cocoa and drinking chocolate he made himself with a pestle and mortar.

2. In 1855, Queen Victoria gave Cadbury a Royal Warrant to  "produce cocoa and chocolate for Queen Victoria."

3. Cadbury used a lot of cocoa butter left over after creating Cocoa Essence to manufacture the first bar of milk chocolate in 1897.

4. Cadbury was the first to create a heart-shaped box. Customers used the elegant boxes as keepsakes after the chocolates were gone, and Richard Cadbury produced and began selling them in 1861.

5. Cadbury's trademark purple and gold wrapper wasn't always the case. It was originally pale mauve with red letters until 1920.

6. Cadbury had to halt production of their Dairy Milk bars when fresh milk was outlawed in 1941. As a cheap substitute, ration chocolate was produced with dried skim milk powder.

7. Every year, more than 350 million bars of Dairy Milk are sold, or around one million bars every day.

8. Cadbury flakes were accidentally created.  An employee by accident found the flaky bar made comprised of tiny layers pf chocolate. Excess chocolate from the sides of the molds spilled out, and this chocolate cooled to form beautiful flaky bars. It was first published in 1920.

9. In 1875, the first Cadbury Easter egg was created. It was dark chocolate with a smooth, simple surface, filled with sugar-coated chocolate drops known as 'dragees'.

10. Despite the fact that Cadbury's created the first creme- filled chocolate egg in 1923, we first tasted the bliss that is a Cadbury's Creme Egg in 1971.
